Suspiciously Planet of the Apes -shaped setting, with all the animal kingdom instead of just apes. I like the worldbuilding of how this society function, both funny and believable. I suspect the reason Labra withheld the mentioning of rumored "human" army during Hitoshi's trial is because he already had some inkling that they were some kind of human technology. Given his ambition was to take advantage of human's power for his own ends, he probably needed to establish Hitoshi's innocence so that 1. Hitoshi would feel indebted and more inclined to agree to the techology transfer when later asked, and 2. the public will be more accepting of that happening when announced, likely in the name of enhancing peacekeeping.
