Suspiciously Planet of the Apes -shaped setting, with all the animal kingdom instead of just apes. I like the worldbuilding of how this society function, both funny and believable. The author managed to create a plot that goes beyond the initial incident, and that being welcomed to their society is just the beginning of the journey for our human character.

I suspect the reason Labra withheld the mentioning of rumored "human" army during Hitoshi's trial is because he already had some inkling that they were some kind of human technology. Given his ambition was to take advantage of human's power for his own ends, he probably needed to establish Hitoshi's innocence so that 1. Hitoshi would feel indebted and more inclined to agree to the techology transfer when later asked, and 2. the public will be more accepting of that happening when announced, likely in the name of enhancing peacekeeping.

Haruko is the AI(suspected) on his ship correct? So I'm guessing we are going the direction of misaligned computer, which I fear is a bit played out, but we'll see where it goes. I'm guessing the human army is just robots. I've been enjoying the mystery of this series, whether humans seeded the planet in the first place, and that's how he knew to come here. Whether Hito is a modified human beyond just being able to cryo sleep, and if the animal world is truly as war-free as it appears. I love that they went the direction they did with the "cowardly lion" trope, when he's totally right to be afraid.

Really enjoying this so far, glad to see discussion for it here on tildes

I hadn't consider that Hito could be modified human, plausible yeah. The animal characters all have interesting twists: the lion is paranoid, the dog is a scheming politician, the pig is an intelligent engineer, and the cat is... just like cats haha.

Glad to see you liking it too. I'll probably just post more of whatever I enjoy to hopefully entice more people into also checking them out :)
