What have you been watching/reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!
One thing I've been watching is Fruits Basket. Oh boy, I am so happy and excited watching this anime. I read the manga back in highschool and absolutely loved it. I bought the whole series a year or two ago over the course of about a year as there was the new edition that came out, so it was a total of like 12 volumes I think. The first Fruits Basket anime I didn't even bother watching. Like Toru didn't even have the right coloring for her hairs/eyes and I felt like if they would give up on that most basic of details why bother with the rest of it? My disdain was relatively well-founded as I have found out over time from various people that it diverged from the Manga and was pretty different, but not in a good way. So having the new anime following the manga is just so much fun I love it!! It makes me want to read the manga again!
I've also been keeping up with Demon Slayer. Really, this show is just so good god damn. The story is great so far and it takes its time but not in a bad way! I personally love the animation style and was shook that they have like fingernails and toenails?? So many anime and really a lot of shows just don't even add those kinds of details. I really enjoy the pacing and style of Demon Slayer, it's really a breath of fresh air for me in many ways. Plus the pure, loving relationship of the brother and sister is so sweet and not fucking disgusting like so many anime stray towards. I hope it stays that way.
I did not write a long time about new season.
So, I am watching:
shorts & sprecial
from previous season
I rarely read manga but I was a glad to read a short [but name is not, bhh] completed manga with three volumes — Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de.
That last episode of One Punch Man gave me some good chuckles especially right at the end.
Carole and Tuesday lifts my heart and my head and I love it so much
