It was very petty to change the rules on the new kid, but it worked in that Shinigami are petty, and the purpose of dropping a Death Note into the world is for people to die, so by making all of the chaos around selling it off, they could have seen that as a perversion of it's intended use. Least that's what I got out of it.
I'm really not sure what to do with this one (~books, ~anime, ~misc?) , but I figured if any of you want to know what a follow up to Death Note would be like years later, there was a one off made...

It was definitely an interesting one shot, I found most interesting the characters design change of L. I also enjoyed that prominent characters from the first series have received recognition for their feats. My only gripe is I’m left wondering what a Shinigami King looks like.

I think ~anime is definitely better (for example, the recurring thread there is for both anime and manga), I'll move it there.
