I find Tanjiro a very interesting character. Yes, he is very much a Shonen protagonist, but also not. He is sensitive, vulnerable, and even a bit androgynous. The character has heart, in my view.

I don't follow this series, but it is good to know that there are movies of popular anime that cover original material instead of being filler. I always thought that it was a waste to use good animators and budget in movies like then ones made for Naruto and Dragon Ball Z.

That one's pretty 'unfair', though; it basically sidelines the Naruto characters in place of the original characters. Naruto isn't even the main character in this film! But it's got some really beautiful animation, the story is dramatic and mature, and the plot has meaningful messaging. It's one of those movies where everyone will find something to enjoy.
The weird part is that in the theatrical release, it was preceded by a 10-minute Naruto short that is basically one continuous poop joke. I guess Toho really wanted to cover every base.
I watched this series up until they got to some kind of spider forest or something like that, and I have to say the constant emotional outbursts and whiny childhood flashbacks were unbearable....

The emotional stuff is at the core of the show and if you don’t dig that, than maybe this is not the show for you. That said, there are lots of awesome action up until the end, some of the best...

That said, there are lots of awesome action up until the end, some of the best fights I’ve seen in quite some time and very interesting villains. But the drama is always present.
up until? The spider forest is easily the best part. I didn't care much about it for the most parts, but ep 18 and 19 are easily the best part of s1. I skipped everything after that, but ep 18 and...

Well, yeah... this is a quality Shonen anime and there’s plenty of great action in all sections. I watched it in full.
