What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!
I went into To Your Eternity blind and was completely overwhelmed at the first episode.
It starts off on a very strange conceit, in that the main character of the show isn't actually the one the episode is about. Apparantly we're following a sentient orb that changes it's form to match it's surroundings.
This episode is completely heartbreaking. I haven't been through so much in an opening sequence since Pixar's Up. The life of this boy is so incredibly sad that it's really hard to not feel really bad for him, and his cheery disposition makes you like him and empathize with his situation.
I don't want to give away too much of the plot because it's very much worth experiencing for yourself, but what I will say is that I really loved the attention to detail in this episode; this character is in a bit of an unusual situation but if you look closely at the details you can see a lot of unspoken backstory.
It's honestly one of the best things I've seen in a while, so I really strongly recommend everyone to watch it; it's on Crunchyroll right now.
I don't know why, but I watched through all of Redo of Healer. It was absolutely horrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I also went in blind for To Your Eternity. I watched the episode twice already. I'll probably watch it one more time later. I really like the winter theme for this first one.
