For the most part I read news/stories through aggregators like Tildes, so I'm not sure I've read much if any from venturebeat before so maybe I'm missing context. Anyway, what is the author trying to construe by specifically using an AI generated image for the article header and then proceeding to draw attention to it with a disclaimer? Actually irks me for some reason. Is it tone deaf or trying to convey some sort of bias?

Or maybe now that I've thought about it far too long, something that's purely out of the author's hands. Maybe the editor chuckled to themselves as they generated the image.

VentureBeat has AI generated images for all articles on their websites so it seems like it's just a part of their editorial guideline.
