I discovered this animated short recently while studying Ukrainian and was completely taken aback by its beauty, music, and storytelling without any spoken words. The contrast of animation styles and transitions of musical tones had me watching this short three times. Even though I didn't live in the era or times depicted in the film, I can't help but feel nostalgic and melancholy. The absence of dialogue made the emotions and imagery resonate even more, making it a timeless exploration of human longing and unspoken feelings.

My second, after trying to look up the film, is that it's a shame how little information is on the internet about it. I found the IMDB entry for it, Nenapisannoe pismo, but it doesn't have many details. And even googling the director and writer doesn't turn up much else. The director, Yevgeny Sivokon, has an English Wikipedia page, but pretty much all it does is list their other movies.
Pretty cool regardless. I love the mixed medium nature of it, but I particularly enjoyed all the pen on paper looking parts. It reminded me of flipbook animation, but much more mature and detailed.
p.s. Long time no see, Merry. Hope everything is well with you. :)
