And now we apparently can’t have steampunk, because steampunk as a commercial genre is overdone and too niche. Nobody wants steampunk anymore, it seems.
maybe it's because i haven't paid much attention to literature and the media as a whole recently, but it certainly doesn't seem like there's that much steampunk to go around to begin with. i feel like i haven't heard the term to describe a piece of media in at least three years, and off the top of my head i can't really name a piece of media i'd actually describe as steampunk.
