I'm about 1/4 in and I'm loving it. The novelization adds an incredible depth to each character --- either through inner-monologue, extra backstory / context, or simply more story.

If you enjoyed the movie, I'd definitely suggest tucking into this. The audiobook is performed by Jennifer Jason Leigh, and her own performance is outstanding. For a predominantly male cast, I would have expected a male narrator, but her voice and delivery is perfect.

I took a break from Catch 22 for this. I'm also loving Catch 22, but I couldn't wait. Like most people, I'm in love with Milo Minderbinder. :)

Got the first volume of the comic book series A Saga do Superman ("The Saga of Superman"). As far as I can tell, the publication is unique to Brazil, and consists of a selection of Superman's John Byrne era that started in 1986. Byrne's style is to me deeply nostalgic and how super heroes are "supposed to look like". The 160 pages trade paperback contains all six volumes of the miniseries The Man of Steel. A Superman that is heroic to core, with crystal clear morals devoid of problematization. I do not oppose the movement towards progressive socially conscious super heroes, but it is nice to remember the simpler times.

I also acquired A Saga do Batman, with the same premise. Some great stories, include one by Alan Moore.

Back in the 80s/90s, everything was so fun, colorful and outreageous. I love it.
