I’m still working my way through Braiding Sweetgrass, which I started all the way back in April. I also picked up Witchcraft Therapy, which is a much lighter read.

An Leabhar Nimhe, it's a collection of Lovecraftian short stories written in Irish by Panu Petteri Höglund, a Finnish linguist who has contributed a few novels to the Irish language publishing scene over the years. It's a bit meh so far honestly, but horror isn't usually my genre anyway. I am at least picking up some new vocabulary.

I've been reading chunks of Catch 22 between other books. I really like it -- but man, some of the back and forth drives me nuts. I'll probably finish tomorrow. I really like the book, overall, though.

On the crime front, I'm really digging the Kenzie & Gennaro series from Dennis Lehane. The tone is perfect and the universe Lehane has created is really nice, albeit brutal at times. In my quest to find a new Bosch-like series, I think this is as good as I'll get. Matthew Scudder is right up there, but it can feel a little hokey at times with minor details.

I reread the Darth Bane series a few weeks ago. As far as Star Wars EU trilogies go, I still think its the strongest. Thrawn is a close second, which is expected. I've gone through about thirty or so Star Wars books (all Legends) and I'm always looking for more. If you have any suggestions, let me know! I'll read anything from Legends, even if they brought into the new trash canon, which pretty much includes everything without Ben Skywalker or Darth Caedus. :)

I've also been going through the Jack Reacher series in chronological order. I like it overall, but Reacher really can do no wrong... which is somewhat frustrating so far. The books are pretty good, though.

After Catch 22 I'll be heading back to my new favorite reporter, Carter Ross, who is pretty much a 1:1 knock-off of Connelly's Jack McEvoy.
