Somewhere back in September/October I switched to NixOS after eyeing it for a couple of months and reading up about it. I had tried a live USB before but didn't really figure Nix out, so I decided to throw myself headlong into NixOS and simply make myself figure it out.

So after a few months of getting my system set up back to where it was, a few days ago I submitted my first package to nixpkgs that was merged today. :D

Homelab stuff. Was trying to get a L2TP VPN set-up on my Unifi USG. It technically worked, but it wasn't working properly with my Windows laptop. Though it did with my old MBP for some reason. So I nixed that. A friend recommended I try WireGuard, so I set up a WireGuard instance inside of Docker (which was my first time messing with Docker) and it worked! On my phone and on both my Windows laptop and MBP.

I'm supposed to set-up a PiHole, but I'm putting that on the backburner to work on setting up a media server. I looked at Plex and alternatives like Jellyfin, and I may go towards the latter. Unless anyone else has any suggestions.
