This is a useless title. It doesn't explain what the article/subject matter is about, and solicits the user like an ad.

I would be so hesitant to give all of my source code to these services. If you can't run it in your living room you shouldn't use it.

Yeah, my workplace just decided against messing around the the integrated AI Assistant in IntelliJ IDEA, too. It seems to be primarily based on ChatGPT, and we had previously established that our source code cannot be shared into it without legal issues, either (based on who are our customers are and our contracts with them).

But I think it's also a matter of having contracts with the right guarantees and also being comfortable that the vendors won't do that. After all, many businesses have become comfortable running their apps in someone else's data center, and they also use tools from commercial vendors like JetBrains and Microsoft.

OpenAI announced ChatGPT Enterprise today. Microsoft has their own version of it, which I suppose would appeal to businesses that are all-in on Microsoft anyway? Looks like they're going to do whatever it takes to get big business to trust them.

This is a beta version. I wonder how long until they start to charge for it like Microsoft's copilot.

I started using Cody at work. It’s far from perfect, but it is a step better than just using ChatGPT for code hints because of the code graph context. I’m pretty excited to see how it will improve.

TJ DeVeries works at sourcegraph so I’m sure it’ll come soon. I’m excited for it.
