A lot of people have made toy CPUs out of discrete parts lately: this one is on a whole other level because it is a real 32-bit CPU which can run real software. It reminds me of the minicomputers of the 1970s, at first glance it seems comparable to the VAX but it is clocked higher and has more RAM than any VAX I used. However I suspect it is missing virtual memory and probably doesn’t have particularly advanced pipelining. Kinda reminds me that I oughta boot up the RISC-V dev board I got from a kickstarter, but that one runs Linux and I don’t think this one does.
