That nightscout project he mentions in passing literally does all the things he eventually cobbles together himself. I use it to manage my son's T1D and it has been a literal lifesaver.
I 100% commend the author for finding something that works best for him. I really do. It's just so odd that he never thought to try the thing that the miao miao is trying to communicate with. Nightscout is free, open source, and built to be flexible.
The article just gave me mild "sales pitch for grafana" vibes. I dunno, maybe I'm just an old cynic.
