Depends on where you live sometimes - in this case python != django, may as well be different languages. Any dev worth their salt can flip between python and ruby, but django and rails require specific talent - I do believe there are more rails devs out there in most cities.
I used meteorjs for a project. It's nice for the specific things it's designed for, but bigger projects quickly get to the point where meteor becomes a bit of a nuisance.

Most of company here is using Rails for this type of work. I've been a Python guy for sometime. Whenever I try to pick-up Ruby it makes me want to hit my face into the wall. Unsure of why that...

Unsure of why that dynamic exists :-p. I suppose I'll stick w/ Django for now, and when I hand it off to the team they can build it in Rails if they want.
