So, I'm relatively sure I'm now subscribed to the "misc" OpenBSD mailing list. However my question is mainly...what exactly do I do now? Specifically, will new messages in misc automatically go to my inbox, or is there something else that must be done? I'm relatively sure the webpage can't be used to access messages from the mailing list.

Nothing else you need to do except maybe set up some e-mail rules such that OpenBSD mailing list messages are sent to the same folder for instance. (Filtering on "List-Id" in the sources of the e-mail messages is the easiest).
I see that you mentioned you're a hip young teenager, so you were probably not "on the internet" 20 years ago :) Here's a couple of warnings/comments/remarks about e-mail, usenet & mailing list etiquette that you might encounter:
Mailing lists are public and indexed by search engines. Remember that :)
Some people don't like it that you include ('cc') their personal e-mail address when replying to the mailing list.

Most mailing lists have a web-searchable archive, but it looks like BSD's is only publicly available (i.e, w/o subscription to the list) via the archive over here

Any other questions, just ask and I'll help out!
Update: I didn't know OpenBSD had their own netiquette page :) https://www.openbsd.org/mail.html
