Docker Installer Link

Docker recently made it so that it requires you to have an account on Docker Hub in order to download the Docker Desktop Installer. So, here's the links:

https://download.docker.com/win/stable/Docker%20for%20Windows%20Installer.exe

https://download.docker.com/mac/stable/Docker.dmg

Didn't verify, but what a shitty move from them. It's almost simmilar when nvidia required you to have an account to manage your gpu drivers. There was an option that, for example, automatically set display settings for almost all games so you get good framerate and the best possible graphics. That was nice feature, but now - it's locked behind give-us-your-email.

I wonder why companies do this and risk alienating their userbase - I don't think they are selling the data, that would be catastrophic for pr, - high risk with not so high reward.

There is a reason why I don't like to invest my time in open source enterprise applications and frameworks that take VC funding; they tend to make sudden confounding changes to the way they operate. My work has had me dealing with Magento, an application that later got sold to PayPal, spun off into it's own company, had it's codebase completely rewritten (creating tremendous instability and security issues in the process), and then sold again to Adobe. Though, to be fair, Docker is a much better program than Magento in every possible measure.
