The posts about it have gotten a lot of attention on reddit, so I imagine he's deluged with requests for updates on the story constantly. It's probably easier to just write something like this up...

Seems to me like the author should have waited until the story finished developing before they posted it online.
Maybe after "Legal" took over, they were not allowed to post publicly about it.
