I was glad to see that the top post on the MSO one is asking about all the non-technical Stack Exchange sites. That really stood out to me as well—this was a very long blog post (too long, in my opinion) yet it said practically nothing about the whole network and focused almost exclusively on Stack Overflow and their paid products. That seems like a worrisome signal for the rest of the network.
I agree that it seems mostly content-free. I'm not sure it's intended to be a response at all, but it's not a plan or a vision for the future either. There are a few personnel changes announced...
