    Wow, this is honestly fantastic news. npm was always a dodgy thing in the JS world (and by extension, in tech in general), and it seemed like a problem everyone was burying their heads in the sand...

    Wow, this is honestly fantastic news. npm was always a dodgy thing in the JS world (and by extension, in tech in general), and it seemed like a problem everyone was burying their heads in the sand for.

    MUCH better Microsoft owns it than… many other alternatives. And Much better MS than the previous "independent but not quite" thing they had going on until now.

    Well, that explains GitHub's recent focus on their artifact repository solution. Here's the GitHub Packages pitch for those who haven't checked it out yet.

    Later this year, we will enable npm’s paying customers to move their private npm packages to GitHub Packages—allowing npm to exclusively focus on being a great public registry for JavaScript.
