Looks like there are still a few reasons to pay for a Pro account, but they are kind of marginal, like Github pages on a private repo.
I guess I'll keep using Keybase to get end-to-end encryption on personal repo syncs, but honestly I don't think it matters, private repos on Github would probably be fine.

For private repos I don't think it matters, other than having another backup. Backups are good, even if they're a bit stale. I wonder how easy it is to automatically back up to both? There is also...

There is also a question of how private you want it to be and what threats you care about when it comes to disclosure. If that's your primary concern, having it in two places, both of which are on another organization's machines where they could read the data, would increase the risk a bit, but I still think it's pretty low.
It's possible to push to both simultaneously (see here, eg). Personally I already have daily borg backups and a backup to Google Drive, so any additional backups at this point seems excessive. :p
