    I've been following the radicle project for a while, but they just released their beta client and you can actually play with it now.

    Earlier versions were based on IPFS, but now the basic idea is to distribute git repositories with attached issue trackers and other metadata through a gossip protocol, similar to Secure Scuttlebutt. A lot of functionality is still missing, but the eventual goal is to replace centralized forges like GitHub.

      I can see that it was designed like that on purpose, but, honestly, my first impression was that it detracted from presenting the product as something that should be taken seriously. I mean, me personally, I nevertheless have my curiosity piqued in this project, and would be interested to hear more news about it periodically in the coming months, but that was my initial reaction to the design.
