I can't help but feel a little bit afraid/alone looking at these. I can't quite explain why.

This is a guide to using DALL-E 2 to get what you want. It also serves as a pretty good showcase of what other people have done, and a beginner's guide to different art styles.

I think that one of the most popular initial use cases for this technology (although not specifically DALL-E 2) will be porn. GPT-3 works very well in situations where standards are a bit lower:

    • AI-Dungeon: The novelty of custom fantasies overrides any jank from GPT-3 going a bit off the rails. Some people take this in a pornographic direction.
    • CopyAI: Marketing copy never needed to be fully based in reality. You can include key facts in your inputs, but you're paying for GPT-3's creatively written puffery.

You can already self-host a GPT-3-like model, GPT-J, just a couple years after GPT-3 was made available to the public. A self-hostable DALL-E-like model is only a few years down the line. And once that's available there won't be the policy guard rails that you have with OpenAI. They've specifically excluded anything erotic from their dataset.

30-second deepfakes of anyone you can get a picture of doing anything you can get reference material of. Not sure if the world's ready for it.
