This one isn't one I made but one I helped coordinate. I'm just feeling like a proud papa and want to show everyone! I was part of an inaugural cohort for a coastal science program that started in 2018. We ended up graduating into the heart of 2020 and had a fun little zoom based ceremony. Since then two other classes have followed suit. This year marks the first in-person graduation and all of the classes are coming together for it. A few of us across cohorts wanted to put together a few events and make some memorabilia to celebrate the occasion. I talked a little bit about the BBQ we'll be throwing last week and this week we finished out the designs for the shirts we're making. I'm not the one who is actually making it, but we talked one of my favorite artists Wyatt Hersey into doing the design. I'm too excited about it not to share! The Nudibranch is going to be over the left breast and the ocean scene will be on the back. I still can't believe he agreed to take on the little project and I'm so stoked about how it turned out!

That is so incredibly awesome! The design is so good, it'll look great on whatever you put it on! It's exciting that you were able to get the artist you wanted for the project and he was able to...

Thanks! He really did an amazing job! Wyatt even asked if I could add an extra to the order because his girl friend was so excited she wants one!

I'm in the process of making stickers for my bookclub! It's just a lil doodle I did of the book we're currently reading, but one of the members works at a printing place and gets to print all kinds of stuff for free so I'll be sending him a sheet to print and I'll be cutting them on my silhouette cameo. I'm hoping the colors come out right as I did it in RGB. Luckily I always do everything in 300DPI so I spared myself that at least lol. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the flesh!

The doodle in question. We're reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Kimmerer and she had a really sweet quote in her preface.

In braiding sweetgrass--so that it is smooth, glossy, and worthy of the gift--a certain amount of tension is needed. Of course you can do it yourself, but the sweetest way is to have someone else hold the end so that you pull gently against each other, all the while leaning in, head to head, chatting and laughing, watching each other's hands, one holding steady while the other shifts the slim bundles over one another, each in its turn.
