What creative projects have you been working on?
This topic is part of a series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss creative projects they have been working on.
Projects can be personal, professional, physical, digital, or even just ideas.
If you have any creative projects that you have been working on or want to eventually work on, this is a place for discussing those.
Finally finished these pink peonies a week ago š
Now went to work on something a lot more simple that doesn't have dozens of colours and other nonsense, so that I can turn my brain off a little while stitching. Projects like the above end up very beautiful but it's a lot of work on account of not just the amount of colours complicating things, but also because of french knots and backstitching - and this pattern alternated them from 1 to 3 strands and several different colours, as well as half-stitches of both 1 and 2 strands, three-quarters stitches and double three-quarters stitches, both of which I skipped entirely. I'm getting very experienced with this work, so it's not that it's all that difficult for me anymore. Just super annoying!
So yeah, time for something simple now!
I made a costume from a well known computer game. It was based on the box art and I realised later that the pixel art sprite was actually different in some ways, so Iām planning the new modifications.
Iām a complete amateur so I get direction on what to do from another member of the group, and if it requires use of a sewing machine I get help setting that up too :)
This is a great idea for a thread by the way.
Personal project stuff- blog updates, thinking through ideas for blog posts and ways to update and add other pages.
Continuing planning/notes/testing some web stuff for a tech-help site idea I have.
Also trying to brainstorm unique ways to try and make a little money during some few-months downtime between jobs. Not absolutely necessary but it would be nice to offset the small dent I'll be making in savings (though I will recoup it later via selling my place anyway, tbh).
Lastly, more physical option which is sewing leftist/band patches onto various "battle" garments (jacket, vest, hoodie) and learning as I go along (have done a few patches so far and it's my first ever time making one). It's been fun, despite slight dexterity issues and finding a comfortable way to sit and do it, and I enjoy the result. The hoodie has a grind/punk/DIY/leftist theme to its patches.
