What creative projects have you been working on?
This topic is part of a series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss creative projects they have been working on.
Projects can be personal, professional, physical, digital, or even just ideas.
If you have any creative projects that you have been working on or want to eventually work on, this is a place for discussing those.
I've hit my summer vacation (I'm a teacher) so I have more time on my hands than usual. I've got a couple of creative ideas I've been mulling over:
Nothing's solidified or set in stone yet. I'm enjoying my downtime and am in no rush to fill it, but I know in a week or two I'll get the hankering to work towards something.
Hey, you're a pretty damn good writer and have well-formed ideas! I'd be interested in what you have to say. Do you have any notion of what the essence of your writing would be?
Thanks for the kind words!
I see a potential "book" from me as simply a collection of "essays" which would basically be longer versions of the type of stuff I comment about here: personal experience spinning into broader commentary.
I'm absolutely terrible with writing without a stimulus, so I'll honestly probably use some submissions from Tildes as jumping off points (just as I would for comments). I also might open up a thread and just ask for some topic dumps from people -- a sort of "what would you want to hear me talk about?" It's much easier for me to write if I have a particular audience/person in mind, so having a bunch of Tildes users surface some starting points for me would be a great way for me to get off the ground.
Part digital, part physical, but I'm working on getting set up for making music with GameBoys. I've got a Teensyboy Pro coming in for midi sync, and will be working on using a Raspberry Pi as a midi host to power/interface with a USB hub to connect my Op-1 and the PolyEnd Tracker I'm currently waiting on.
Writing some fantasy/scifi. I suck at writing. I had double english first period on a monday morning for 2 years during highschool and to say im not a morning person is a massive understatement (i was also a maths guy/ HE MEANS THE CURTAINS ARE BLUE NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS! type idiot) I just don't know how to write anything longer than forum messages and comments. I read a lot these days and after reading atomic habits i figured it was about time i started writing however poor it is.
Currently trying out two different "forms" of writing a story. I don't know whether they are legitimate, optimal or whether other writers use a particular method. One story i am writing "organically" (from the start writing what pops into my head as i write) but in a condensed form which i will expand and flesh out later. The other story i am writing the plot points, cast, relationships and world etc. then i later use that to write the story. I should probably read a book on how to write a book but i think its best if i actually write consistently first.
I bought a chintzy desktop tripod + phone holder+ remote shutter from Amazon and I think I'll use it to do a test-run of a guitar lesson. Might try to edit some graphics and stuff into it. Not obnoxious, Youtube-style shit, though... useful figures of chord shapes/fretboard diagrams, etc..
...After I clean up my place a bit more, at least. Don't want it to look like too much of a rat's nest.
