What creative projects have you been working on?
This topic is part of a series. It is meant to be a place for users to discuss creative projects they have been working on.
Projects can be personal, professional, physical, digital, or even just ideas.
If you have any creative projects that you have been working on or want to eventually work on, this is a place for discussing those.
I've been every-so-slowly making my way through "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". My sketching skills are improving; they're not great, but they're better than they were. I'm managing about a chapter every other month or so. Edit: nothing worth sharing yet, but maybe at some point in the future.
I have been trying to practice my guitar playing and find some new songs to sing. I've been singing duets with my daughters, which is, well, about as good life gets, I think. I'm hard pressed to describe something better than making music with my kids; there are other things as good but I can't think of anything better.
Tons of music! I've now released two solo singles under my alias Jake Entrecote on all the major streaming services. I'm trying to get a solo record done by the end of the year. I'm actually pretty far along already!
Also I linked up with this amazing singer/guitarist/songwriter over the internet and we started a band. We have two songs that are pretty much done, and a ton of demos cooking up.
This week I've had some stuff going on at work and in my personal life so I haven't been as productive as I would've liked. I'm sure these events will inform my future art so I'm not too bothered. I'm still trying to start up Ableton and get an hour in every night.
That's awesome, got anything you are able to/willing to share?
We haven't released anything as a band, but here's my latest solo single. :)
That's awesome :)
I've recently written three pages of worldbuilding and plot outline for this science fiction idea:
A nuclear powered AI controlled cryptocurrency mining computer the size of a skyscraper from the year 2054 improves itself with quantum computing, which leads to it becoming self aware and inventing time travel. Information can travel back in time, but not matter. This computer is responsible for the 1987 Max Headroom signal hijacking, graffiti artist Banksy, conspiracy theory Q Anon, and bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto.
I turned my CV into a basic website that I wrote from scratch. It's nothing too impressive, just some HTML and CSS with a lil bit of JS to enlarge some images. It's mostly done on the information side, with a little bit of aesthetic changes left to make.
That being said, I don't really want to make any more websites again if I can avoid it. This stuff takes ages.
Well I made an 8K 300 PPI Pokémon wallpaper for my nephew, which I’ve now printed into an A2 poster.
It’s his birthday tomorrow and he adores Pokémon, so I made sure to use his favourites. Came out really well!
My spouse bought a darbuka, so she and I are learning to play it. It's a lot of fun!
