Hello my good people of tildes. It is August first, past noon for MT and that means once more, Art Fight (AF) has come to a close. For those of you who don't know, Art Fight is an art game where two teams fight one another to the death for fun! You attack by drawing other people's characters and you get defenses when people attack you. They also have a better about section on the site you can read if interested.

This is my fifth year participating and it was a doozy! This was the most I've drawn for AF, beating out all previous years. I'm super stoked at the sheer number of pieces I did. In the linked album, everything is chronological first to last (with proper credits). In total, I did 30 attacks, the majority fullbody and all of them with color.

The last twelve attacks I did yesterday and this morning. I tried my best to keep them at under 30 minutes each so I could get through as many as I could. I was trying to balance speed and quality and I think it went surprisingly okay.

I don't have much more to say other than there was a lot of trial and error, especially with the more detailed pieces. I'm curious if the effort/time difference is visible to anyone else. Usually the tell is the hands/feet and how good or not they look! Otherwise, I just wanted to share this with tildes, because it ate up my entire July and I will be happy to take a small break from drawing to focus on my other hobbies.

Scattered thoughts on some of them:

I love the proportions on Harper. The lengthy legs combined with a small torso gives them a very interesting shape and silhouette.

Elspeth is ROCKING that outfit, and I (of course) love the rainbow necklace and labrys.

    Frogg is absolutely adorable.

Effie is arresting. I love the pose, the too-long sleeves, and the way the sweater hangs. Great use of color, too.

Amaranth has a really neat “melting ice cream” effect where some parts look like drips and the pink under their feet made me think it was pooling.

LOVE the color blocking and angularity in Blaise’s outfit; which contrasts amazingly with the rounded head and facial features.

Mitsky could star in a line of successful children’s books.

Love that the color gradient for Kagome goes opposite the clothes. Subtle and super smart way of making the colors pop despite them not being very “poppy” colors, if that makes sense.

    I love Natali’s hair!

Love the build on Ying Yue, and their subtle vampire fangs in such a bright smile.

Ohmygosh thank you so much!! I'm so happy that you took the time to comment on individual pieces! And I'm super happy you noticed what I did with the background for Kagome. It was a spur of the moment thought try out those colors for the bg, but it turned out much better than I thought it might.

Thank you once more for the kind words, it makes me so happy, and it's awesome to get this kind of view on my work since I get so wrapped up in it myself.
