It's exactly the kind of art that I love, actually; I work a lot with generative music in a lot of forms, sometimes connected with generative visuals as well. Especially in Eurorack (with Marbles/Pachinko, Turing Machine/Ornament and Crime uTM, etc) and on Norns (with Arcologies, bakeneko, loom, Less Concepts, meadowphysics, mouse, and dozens of others), the machine that makes the art is, itself, a work of art.

It's even the kind of art I would commission - and have. My profile picture on many of my "private" accounts is a piece of generative art I commissioned for $250 from an algorithmic artist, based on my existing profile pic.

But I can't understand why you want to connect it to the artificial scarcity machine that is NFTs. The whole beauty of algorithmic art is that it's a way to allow anyone to produce beauty and meaning through curation. Why then link that back into a system that is literally designed to perpetuate inequity and inaccessibility?

What I love about this kind of NFT, let's forget about money involved, is just that people can acquire and share seeds to generate art. I think it's a really cool way to collect art. There is no image, just some code and a random seed to kick things off. I'm just really having fun making and sharing art. I think this will inspire a new renaissance in generative art that would not be possible otherwise.

But we can't. It's a fundamentally capitalistic endeavour, because it costs money to produce and trade. Even if you didn't sell it for much, it would be nontrivially expensive.

It's not though. Capitalism doesn't jive so well with digital goods because they can be copied for free. No one needs to own my art, and if anyone wants some of it for free there is plenty to go around.

Isn't most art that is good, eventually sold? This is no different, if anything better because anyone that wants can have a digital 100% perfect copy of the original for free.

I completely agree with this - but then why bring NFTs into the equation? How does it help anyone except for people who want to sell your art? Why not do commissions for people who want them, and let them share that art or not as they, and you, see fit?

If what you're interested in is collecting, I totally get that, but NFTs are (right now) primarily used as a money laundering instrument and a wash-trading-based pyramid scam, and are currently an environmental disaster in motion. There are other systems that will do the same thing!

Personally I don't collect stuff, but some people do. Some people collect funko pops they make in sweatshops. Other people collect old stamps. Some people collect magic cards. Other people collect art. Some people collect nfts. People get great joy from collecting things. People waste their money on all kinds of junk, imagine if they wasted by paying artist to make art.

Anyway, it sounds like you have it all figured out. Either that or you have a lot to learn. I know that I have a lot to learn, so I'm gonna get back to it. Nice chatting with you.

NFTs are not value neutral. Cryptocurrency is not value neutral. Buying art is good, but using the blockchain to do it is bad, and I wish you would stop promoting it.

Hi everyone, I have some new art to share today. I have been working very hard on this stuff recently for sale on fxhash. But I won't bother you all with shilling. All I have to share is a codepen you can use to generate super hd 4096x4096 images with my infrastructures algorithm.
