What are online courses could you suggest for starting UI/UX design?

Hey there, I am asking for a friend who is interested in transitioning from their career of designing print ads (Photoshop and InDesign) to web design.

I would imagine they would need some courses on responsive design and Figma? But I'll let the people with experience talk if they're here.

Free is preferred but willing to pay if needed! And if you have links or specific online courses you really like and helped you, that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

You can find some free videos on YouTube on his channel bringyourownlaptop, and as an alternative to getting one of his courses on Udemy, you can also subscribe to his website which gives access to all of his courses for $12 a month. That's what I did after completing his free courses on YouTube and it allowed me to follow a range of courses simultaneously. I'm not sure it ended up being cheaper because I kept my membership for quite a while, but theoretically you could pack all of your learning into a few months and save some money overall.

I'm on mobile at work so can't really link you directly, but I found them quite helpful when I was looking for some intros on designing professional looking Power BI dashboards, and I'm a 100% sure I saw UX/UI in the course lists too.

Thanks! If you get the time to get links after work that would greatly be appreciated.

So I found some cool courses, but the best of them do cost some money. I found this course that seems to have been well received and i think would be a good introduction: https://www.udemy.com/course/figma-ui-ux-design-essentials-training/?couponCode=SKILLS4SALEA

The strangest thing happened to me though, my cat ran across my keyboard and typed out "https://1337x.to/torrent/5978507/Udemy-Figma-UI-UX-Design-Essentials-Training/"! I, of course, would never endorse piracy. But my cat clearly does, just in case your friend wants to save 10 bucks ;)

My cat couldn't find a link to Daniel Walter Scott's UX UI figma essentials unfortunately, and that one is also rated quite highly. So I'd suggest your friend starts out with the first course I linked, and if he enjoyed it I'd recommend maybe paying for the advanced course Daniel Walter Scott also gives :)!
