Totally offtopic, but is it just a coincidence that you posted this documentary about Camp Century shortly after @boxer_dogs_dance posted an article about the ice cores from there being analyzed... or is that post what spurred you to find this documentary, @Wolf_359?
Just thought it was kinda funny I found myself adding two 'camp century' tags on topics by two totally different users in the same day. :P
Their post inspired me to look it up because the idea of a nuclear-powered ice-tunnel base blew my mind! I immediately turned to my wife and said, "hey, did you know...?" We looked on YouTube and...

That was a great cold war documentary in general, not just strictly about the camp. Also, I was picturing them tunneling into an icy glacier using drills, and laughed when it showed them basically...

That was a great cold war documentary in general, not just strictly about the camp. Also, I was picturing them tunneling into an icy glacier using drills, and laughed when it showed them basically just using giant snow blowers to create the tunnels instead. Still pretty cool, but also not surprising the camp didn't last very long given that, and how shallow it was. Also kinda scary how blasé they were about the reactor leak, and the radioactive waste they left behind.
