For the news coverage, which seems to have worked considering the fact that we're talking about it.

I think this was a planned & okayed interruption, which just makes me wonder- why?

I couldn't agree more with the stated goal, however; if we could finally begin taking climate change as seriously as we need to, I'll cheer for a thousand press conference interruptions.

Half of our veggies have some disease that's rotting them on the vine rn. My backyard garden is so much less hearty this year. I have zero cucumbers, none will even start growing. I know its anecdotal, but it scares the hell outta me. I don't want to watch this happen.

I don't think I understand the question. Why did this group plan a disruption? That seems sort of self evident since otherwise no one would be writing about this.

I think the question is more what the circumstances of planning this sort of disruption were, as it is rather confusing. Here they are described as protesters, but Gen-Z for Change appear to be a pro-Biden political group, with close ties to the administration. They were formerly called 'TikTok for Biden'. They appear to have done official work for the administration, recently.

So why would they be interrupting? Is it an actual break? Is it an actual protest? Or is it an orchestrated performance, and if so, why? Is it meant to allow the administration to talk about these views while positioning them as fringe? That would be disappointing.

That's fair. I have a lot of unhappy, vague anxiety about climate change, and I think I just want to talk about it. Disregard.
