    This seems like a potential solution to half of the black plastic recycling problem. Black colored plastic is difficult to recycle for 2 main reasons: higher technology requirements for cameras/sensors at the recycling facility, and low resale value because it cannot be dyed to other colors.

    Since paved roads are usually black, that seems to me like a huge boon to resale of black plastic, if it can be used in this process from the article.

    I believe there are already solutions on the camera/sensor side, they just need to be integrated into more facilities; the main problem is cost of replacing older tech.
