    The science popularizer Dr Karl predicted this a few years ago likening it to the emancipation of slavery in the UK. Compensation was paid not to those who suffered under slavery but to those who profited from the exploitation, likewise we will not see compensation to those who have suffered the effects of pollution and climate change but to those who profited form destroying the planet.
