My first thought was “Well, duh.” This trend has been going on for decades. I grew up poor, but my mom got a job at a private school to give me and my siblings a leg up. We went to school with the children of CEOs, celebrities and politicians. Many of my former classmates are beneficiaries of failing up. They were mediocre students at best, but went to top universities and now are executives or management at large companies. These were also the same kids that drove $60-100k cars while in high school. The worst part of it all is that they knew from the get go that they would be set for life because of their parent’s connections.
