    Seems like a slightly more materialist take on Bhutan's "Gross National Happiness" Index. I'll be interested to see where things go from this. Will it just be a cosmetic shift or a substantive change in what sorts of economic policy we see coming out of Amsterdam?

    I am heartened to see so much intellectual vigor and ideas coming out of social democracy lately. The political constituency doesn't seem to be there, but the ideas are percolating through even if the brass tacks, establishment support are missing in the anglo-sphere.

    One funny thing about the analogy though:

    The outer ring of the doughnut, where the sprinkles go, represents the ecological ceiling drawn up by earth-system scientists.

    How, exactly, do they make donuts in Oxford?

      I am totally with you! It's really awesome to see how humans can come together during hard times. This very moment seems like a catalyst for change. I hope that it is.
