I literally toured this brewery just the other weekend. Really sad to see a business with so much history in San Francisco disappear. Anchor brewery has been bailed out before in it’s history...
I literally toured this brewery just the other weekend. Really sad to see a business with so much history in San Francisco disappear. Anchor brewery has been bailed out before in it’s history (bought right before going out of business in 1965) and I can only hope it happens again.
Here's hoping. Also, they need to revert back to the old, classic design for the bottle label. The new one looks like a generic store brand brew. EDIT: Before & After

I have only had Anchor Steam once, while I was in the San Francisco area, and didn't much like it. Too bitter for me, so yes, I'm a wuss when it comes to bitter beers. I haven't even found an IPA...

That said, there are plenty of fans of this beer, and it's a shame to see it close down after so many years.

Holy crap that new label is trash. It %100 looks like all the other catchy labels at a grocery store.
Yeah, I'm hoping someone steps up to buy it. It's a good beer with good brand recognition.
