Still trying to be mindful of my grocery budget, so lots of soups, stews, and legume-focused proteins have been on the menu.
I made bazella w riz to use up older freezer peas, but omitted the meat and added cooked lentils to make it more filling.
On a similar culinary vein, made shorbat adas, a really lovely lemony lentil soup.
I also got it in my head to experiment with a squash pasta sauce, but using tahini instead of dairy to make it creamy. It was... ok. Nowhere near what I'd being hoping to achieve, and mostly tasted like the Ottolenghi squash/tahini dip, except thinner and on pasta (I should have expected this, since I used essentially the same base ingredients).
In terms of sweet tooth: I tried a glutinous rice flour-based brownie recipe, hoping they'd be deeply chewy. They were only a little chewy, so not a big win on that front, but still tasty and brownie-like, and I'm glad to have a recipe I can make for gluten-free friends in the future.
