      If you want to go really in-depth, the Beer Judge Certification Program, which trains people to be judges at beer competitions, publishes their guidelines for each style of beer:

      If you're entering a homebrew or commercial brewing competition, you typically have to pick one of those styles to enter the beer as, and it's judged based on those qualities.

      And since those are the closest thing beer has to "official" names for their styles (read the controversy over black IPA / CDA if you want to know what srs bizness this is) you can easily google "(style) food pairing" and find some recommendations that are more in-depth than the 6-way division the article came up with.
