Which board games have you been playing this week? (to 20th August)
Another week down and it's time to share what you've managed to get played this week.

I was away on my summer holiday in France and managed to play a few party games with the people we were staying with. Cards Against Muggles was a nice twist on CAH but, just like CAH, it got old very quickly and I still prefer Quiplash for this type of game.
We also played Rummicub which was okay but instantly forgettable, Insider and Whimsical Monsters which is always very silly but didn't really land with the people we stayed with.
Back home last night I played Age of Steam with my group on the Seattle Metro map. This was a tiny map for three players with some pretty big rule bends over the base game. For example, the production action let's you move up a new track that lets you deliver more cubes each round but at an additional expense. The game also lets you deliver cubes downtown for 5VP but no income (for any track owners involved), letting you properly screw over your opponents. Definitely one I'd like to play again.
My partner and I converted our spare room into a cosy gaming room, and the board game table finally arrived on Wednesday! We broke it in with a light game of Potion Explosion which was fun as always.
This weekend though, we got Nemesis out (haven't been able to play since December due to lack of space) and we had a good couple of games. One lasted for 5 hours and kept us up until 1am but we actually won and both survived for the first time ever! We spawned the queen within the first few turns and had some dicey moments with fires, but we managed to explore all the rooms, send the signal, successfully hibernate and get back to earth. The second game was a valiant effort but didn't go so well as the ship fell apart. Did try the secondary board layout though, which was very cool.
Started playing Arkham Horror Card Game. Really fun, frankly much more fun than Gloomhaven, but scratches a similar itch.
