I've never seen (or even thought about) a breakdown like this, but very interesting. Obviously, everyone has heard of even felt that the prices for the games are rising, but it's good to understand where the difference comes from, so I'm thankful for their openness.
One thing I found particularly interesting:
the shipping cost increased from under $1 to more than $3 per copy, and for this there are no smart(er) shipping strategies... because there is simply no cheaper shipping option.
If logistic companies can improve their price by 300% and are still the cheapest, I think that sellers can be happy they haven't done it earlier. I wonder what the reason was, that they only charged $1, when they're still the cheapest with $3.
I can't say with certainty but is the issue not that a single "cheapest" shipper increased their costs but not that all of the shipping companies have increased their costs with the increase in...

That would definitely make sense here, yeah. That would explain my confusion :D But still nice of the shipper that they didn't increase it earlier from $1 to $3 :D

Really great from them to be transparent about it all and it makes a lot of sense why board games cost so much. Taking games like scythe with the all the parts in the box that end up costing £120...
