This is the last patch before the end of the first ranked split, so make it count! :D Split 2 will start July 19 for most western regions and July 20 for eastern ones.

    Highlights of the patch (IMO):

    • Duskblade - Katarina / Samira interaction is finally gone
    • ADC item balance changes, notably Stormrazor buff and Statikk nerf

This patch was quite as expected, nerfing most of the outliers like Statikk, Neeko, Ivern and Rek'sai. The Zyra and Xerath changes from PBE are not included in this patch, possibly delayed or shelved.

    Absent from the patch:

    • Anivia adjustment on the infographic, but is not included in the patch. Most likely delayed to 13.14.

    The Real Content:

I am very happy with this patch. It addresses almost all of the pressing issues, particularly Statikk. Given this is a 3-week patch, it makes sense to focus on the nerfs in order to avoid problematic situations.

    What do you guys think?

I've heard he was actually kinda strong lately, and his almost-annual skin is overdue already, so I might actually have to get back into the game.

In my opinion, Brand is just not a very good champion, mostly due to cast times. His lockouts are insane, his Q is pretty worthless on it's own, and he gains nothing but damage from his passive. Improving Q a bit (say, 15% slow on it's own), trimming cast time on his abilities or giving him move speed on passive detonation could all be really interesting options.

Yeah, I've also been an advocate of giving him a slow on basic Q, at least to aid escaping a little in case you are unable to stun the enemy (usually after you blow your R-E-W in a teamfight and someone jumps on you).

I've never found his cast times to be that bad. He's not the most fluid champ, but he's alright.
For movement speed I used to run Phase Rush (is that still a thing?) but eventually went back to Dark Harvest because I found the extra (albeit tiny) damage beneficial.

To be fair I think Riot wants to keep him a glass cannon, loads of AoE damage and nothing else. I once thought about merging his Q and E (basic Q slows, passive+Q stuns and spreads passive to nearby enemies), and giving him an utility E, but I haven't found anything that makes sense gameplay-wise while also fitting his enraged fire revenant thematic, and still keeping him a glass cannon.

Thanks for posting these again! I'm pretty excited by League right now, especially the 2v2v2v2 gamemode. Aphelios nerf is welcomed, as are the Vi changes.
