So, this video popped into my YT feed, and I thought: Doom, Fallout, Mad Max, Stalker influences? Sign me up. I got a few minutes into the above video and stopped thinking I'd try it myself...

So, this video popped into my YT feed, and I thought: Doom, Fallout, Mad Max, Stalker influences? Sign me up. I got a few minutes into the above video and stopped thinking I'd try it myself firsthand unspoiled. Considering it's a free mod using the Doom II engine, I thought it'd be like a level or two.

Boy was I wrong. It's a full game with lore, characters, a story and it's just dripping with 80's action movie style. The structure of the campaign (at least episode 1) is very reminiscent of Metro 2033 with a mixture of levels of varying linearity and more peaceful town levels where you talk to people and learn about the world. The second game (episode 2) takes everything great about the first game and improves upon it significantly and makes it semi-open world. The game is also surprisingly scary at times with some enemies and encounters being downright spooky.

Anyway, it's a completely free game and I thought to share it here. The 80's inspired synthesizer soundtrack is also bomb.
