Just some quick thoughts about this presentation, but they basically started off this whole presentation talking about their gameplay and how it feels, and explaining their intent and mission statement for these new combat systems and tools.
It's a really refreshing and interesting way to present your new game, especially in a franchise as old and legendary as DOOM. I feel like it's really nice for them to actually understand what makes their game fun. Plus it's nice that they're treating their game as a game first. While I love story based games, it's really nice to boot up a game to just play.
