I'm hoping they're just trying to showcase some of the more legendary gear on offer and this isn't the idea of common loot.
Regardless, Dark Messiah is one of my favorite disappointing games. The kick seemed far more potent than any spell. Woefully lacking in enemy types, set pieces and immersive sim elements. A morality system that was little more than a single side quest to walk down a hallway. And a story that I can't recall a single beat of.
But the kinetic combat sandbox that made up for all of it. It's all a big bar brawl and the closest games since have been Boneworks in VR and Control that lacks the environmental interactivity.
I'm hoping they go all in with making levels OSHA nightmares with everything on a hair trigger. The least they could do is the unnecessary spike walls for old times sake.
This looks interesting! Hard not to compare it to the Elder Scrolls, which I've found has nailed the world aspect, but combat mostly just boiled down to spamming a mouse button (which I don't...

Hard not to compare it to the Elder Scrolls, which I've found has nailed the world aspect, but combat mostly just boiled down to spamming a mouse button (which I don't think is a hot take). The combat here looks more involved, which is promising! I've heard good things about the combat jn Awoved as well, but haven't played it myself.
But I didn't quite catch how the maps will be laid out? If it's open world, or larger areas or more linear?

Dark Messiah does deserve a successor.
