Oh, in their announcement post they showcase the models vision and long term planning capabilities by showing it playing a variety of games. The blog only directly talks about Pokémon and Slay the Spire, but there are a few other videos of it playing other games (it's about 1/3 the way down).
Coworkers who hadn't heard of any of the games except maybe Pokémon didn't know why this was impressive or interesting.

There is a reason why Factorio is THE factory automation game. Many do good imitations of it, but Factorio is just that good and it's primarily around how the devs cared about this game. It's at end of life for major updates, and that's okay. I feel they have made a game that is as close to perfect as anyone could reasonably ask for.
Belt deposit flipping and pumpjack QOL just streamlines blueprints and doesnt really change anything negatively. I like knowing I can see where my stuff will go before I screw up and pollute my factory. When I eventually play again someday, I will enjoy these new features.
RIP space casinos. I knew it was coming, but it still hurts. At least it's just a single change that will be trivial to write a mod to undo.
And we are very sorry but it is too strong to leave it alone. We don't want to be fun killers, but it just makes any other approach to quality obsolete. So in 2.1 placing Quality modules in the asteroid reprocessing recipes is disallowed.
There are other recipes we were considering tweaking, such as Low Density Structure in Foundries or such, but we are leaving those alone.

I questioned on the previous Factorio post whether I should start playing again now or wait for 2.1. After seeing this update (and having not jumped in during the past week), I think I will wait for the experimental build at the end of the month. This does seem to be a pretty big update with meaningful improvements, and I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Just the sight of the conveyor belts in the videos gives me a deep longing, but I must resist.

Interesting, what was the link there?

Belt flipping is so nice!
