No Man's Sky NEXT: Your experiences, or lack thereof

So recently, No Man's Sky has put out probably their biggest update yet. Prominently featuring Multiplayer, Cargo Freighters, and many QoL changes, Hello Games is determined not to drop their baby just yet. Has anyone been having more fun since the update? Less fun? Did anyone pick it up because of the update? How are your guys' adventures going?

I picked it back up after putting in 65 hours at launch two years ago because of the update. I just arrived in my third star system last night. It's a five-planet system, of which I've scanned two. I'll probably start exploring it tonight.

I like that they're using more realistic elements for crafting instead of stuff like "Thamium9", and that the game no longer expects you to mine plutonium. Digging up ruins is fun, and as is using the terrain manipulator to dig tunnels underground so I can escape from sentinels after picking up gravitino balls.

I haven't gotten the hang of dogfighting in space, though, so when a hostile scan hits as I arrive in a star system I immediately flee to the space station and land. I figure I need a better ship with better guns and more armor before I dare put up a fight.

The Whispering Eggs are a nice touch, too. Try shooting one from a safe distance. :)

I found myself on a relatively hostile planet surrounded by pirates, with all my stuff made useless because it's "old technology". Sounds like a challenge.

Dismantle your old technology and hold on to them. Dismantling them gives you some very nice mats for most upgrades

Funny that this thread pops up today: just yesterday I wanted a re-review of the game including these new updates, and he is actually recommending the game now. I love space games, so I think I'll...

I love space games, so I think I'll more actively look around for pros/cons of the game and see if I can grab it on a sale soon.

I loaded it up, found it way more choppy than it used to be on my computer and uninstalled it.

I have over 66 hours again on a new NEXT save and I just can't get enough. I'm really looking forward to how they progress the game.
