Interesting idea, but unless you really want to use your old physical copies of games, it would probably be a lot simpler and cheaper to just set up emulators yourself. The FAQ says that it's entirely just emulation, so it's not really going to be doing anything special except being able to read cartridges/discs directly, but that's really only important if you're averse to downloading ROMs/ISOs of the games you own for some reason.
It does help legitimize emulation to have a system that works off of the original media. An awesome feature this seems to have is a built-in ROM backup feature, so you can digitize a collection of...

Anybody who's technically minded and interested in retro game emulation for the living room should check out RetroPie. More of a project/undertaking than this sort of off-the-shelf solution but it's rewarding and a good deal cheaper too. I've spent way more time fiddling with mine than actually playing games, but it turns out that's where the real fun is for me, haha.

I'm a little torn. The modules look clunky and the unused ones would take up a ton of space, but I appreciate that you'd only need the ones you have games for, and new modules could be released in the future. I like that each module apparently has controller ports that are compatible with original gamepads for each console. For me the killer app is Sega Saturn emulation, which is notoriously problematic. If Polymega can get that right (and that's a big if) I'll be very interested. The ROM backup feature @teaeargraycold mentioned is also a big deal.
The deluxe bundle pricing feels super expensive($459), but I love the idea. I’ve got a ton of old games and it’d be nice to have modern hardware and connectors.
