    I know several players with 7+ accounts already. It's probably tons of fun for them beating up lowbies, I'm sure... but it’s incredibly annoying for everyone with only one account that is forced to play against them while they are far lower ranked than they should be from switching accounts so much.

      It goes on sale for $12 pretty regularly, so I don't think this should make too much difference overall. Why do people have that many accounts? Is there some benefit for trading purposes or something?

        One alt account for bot trading is probably useful but more than that? Not really. IMO all those extra accounts are just so they can constantly restart at the bottom (purposely losing their placement matches to get under-ranked) so they can then crush "noobs" on the way back up to their natural rank. Then when they get to their natural rank and start only winning +/- 50% of games they switch accounts and start over. With 6 or so accounts you can pretty much do this nonstop since after 30 days of inactivity on an account you have to redo placement matches again.

        At least that is what two of the guys I know who have multiple accounts seem to do. One friend I have who has 8+ accounts now (Xlow/Kudo, who I think you even joined me for 3s with once) claims he has that many because he plays with so many different groups of friends of various skill levels he doesn't want losing with them to effect his "real" account rank, but I think that is just an excuse since he hardly ever plays his "real" account.

        Smurfing is pretty obvious when you know how to look for it too. Any time you see a Pro, Veteran, Expert or Master (under 300 hours played) level Diamond and above player they are likely smurfing since at that rank virtually everyone should be Legend or Rocketeer if they're on their primary account. Any time you call them out for smurfing they will inevitably claim they are coming from Xbox or PS4 though... which I am sure is the case with a small number of people but 1 in 3 players these days on PC at Diamond+ seems to be Pro, Veteran, Expert or Master and "coming from Xbox or PS4". :/
