It reminds me of this video called Choco Mountain: The History of Mario Kart 64's Most Infamous Track. Which also goes into great depth about not just the mechanics, but also the history behind the records, and the people saving that single frame in old established runs.

I really like how some people go great lengths to find obscure bugs and things that metaphorically only will work if all planets are aligned and pigs can fly, just to get the quickest completion....

It also shows how sometimes weird choices show up in games: l was reminded of a game where the final boss was actually in the starting village, but very powerful and able to kill you instantly.

A game mechanic involving villagers meant that villagers attack things that damage them, so if an AoE attack lands near the player but hits villagers, they'll start attacking the final boss, ultimately killing him while the player is hiding somewhere.

Personally l'm just a filthy casual gamer that only plays to unwind after uni/work, but it's really fun to watch people like this that are really really good at one specific thing.

Not really an entertaining run per se, other then it being humorous, but it also shows the sheer amount of creativity required to find a game breaking glitch sometimes. Which is a huge part of the actual speed running process as well, since It keeps the competition alive for a longer period of time.

Speed Running is the only way to play this game because as soon as you start it up you want it to be over with as soon as possible.
